What are the Benefits of Using a Secure Participant Portals for NDIS Plans?

A secure participant portal lets you check your NDIS funding online, at a time that suits you. Depending on the portal, you can follow your budget, see provider invoices and payments, and let someone who supports you view the same details. Portal functions and update times vary, so check what information is available and when it was last updated.
WHICH PORTALS CAN I USE?
The NDIA has two official participant portals, my NDIS and myplace. Both show your plan and are opened through myGov. Which one you use depends on the system your current plan was created in.

If First2Care manages your funding, you can also use the First2Care portal. It shows the day-to-day administration of your plan-managed funding, such as invoices received, payments made, and the balance remaining.

What are the main benefits of using a participant portal?
BUDGET AND SPENDING TRACKING
See what has been spent and what remains in each budget category, so you can supports for the whole plan period.
INVOICE AND PAYMENT STATUS
See which invoices have arrived, what they were for, and whether the provider has been paid.. If the status is unclear, contact your plan manager.
EASIER RECORD KEEPING
A portal can bring budget, invoice, payment and statement information together, reducing separate spreadsheets or repeated requests. You may still need to keep some records yourself, such as service agreements.
ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT YOU
With your consent, a nominee or support coordinator can view relevant information. Nominees and child representatives must sign in to the NDIA portals with their own myGov account, not yours.
QUESTIONS RAISED SOONER
An unfamiliar charge or low balance is easier to sort out when you notice it early, rather than at the end of your plan.
MOBILE ACCESSIBILITY
Official portals are accessed via myGov using a supported browser (Edge, Chrome, Safari or Firefox). The my NDIS app offers another way to view current plan and budget information from a compatible device.

The First2Care portal can also be accessed on a mobile device by simply logging in via your chosen browser.
