There will also be a come and try day held in the lead up to this event at the Brisbane Golf Club on the 26 July.

A question that has been weighing on many NDIS participants and others in the disability community is, ‘will the unexpected increasing number of NDIS participants mean that funding gets cut from current participants?’

When Bill Shorten became Minister for the NDIS, he made it clear that he would not sit idly by and allow participants or providers to be victims of fraud. This year has barely begun, and the Fraud Fusion Taskforce have taken action against several providers who have committed fraud by falsifying claims.

The Disability Royal Commission held a five-day public hearing in Brisbane to explore what needs to be done to create a more inclusive society, one that supports Australians with disability from all walks of life.

Although the NDIA has assisted many people with disability to access the support they need through NDIS funding, there are some Australians who have not been eligible to access the scheme in the past. However, following the Federal Court’s decision known as NDIA v D. in late August, the eligibility requirements are widening allowing some people with disability access to the NDIS who have previously been excluded.

An official statement was made on June 11th, 2022, by the new Minister for the NDIS Bill Shorten announcing the NDIA CEO Martin Hoffman would be stepping down from his position.

The National Disability and Insurance Agency (NDIA) recently released the 2022/23 update to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (Price Guide). With this update, many supports will experience their biggest pricing increase to-date.
